Ok, I’m the first to admit that I am now officially hooked and a complete sucker for the vampire books. I got hooked on reading Laurell K Hamilton’s series a few years ago and now that she has released her brand new book in the series called bullet I cannot put it down. She started out all about action and eventually just went to writing books close to porn but this book goes back to action and excitement. It is the classic Laurell K Hamilton that we all remembered and loved. It seems like there is one thing that keeps coming back in this book though and that is bathrobes.

Bathrobes are above and beyond some of the most comfortable things on earth but in the books they are mostly silk which is ruined by water or every day wear. However she does point that out and that is why some of the characters actually wear other types of bathrobes for when they leave a shower but still need to look sexy and be comfortable. That is why when I was reading and I realized that I haven’t blogged for a while that I should probably post about something extremely sexy to see a man in that he cannot ruin with water like silk. It is a sexy black velour mens bathrobe.

This week was kind of rough for me and all I could think about was going home and laying in my bed or on the couch with a glass of wine, a book and my favorite robe. I really don’t feel like writing to much right now but I think you all know what it is like to have a bad day or week at work and want nothing but quiet and to relax and all I could think about is laying around in my robe with my favorite wine and a book and then to go into work the next day completely refreshed and ready to work though all of the issues.

Ok, I was looking through SleepyHeads.com when I discovered a brand new bathrobe designer called Tepper Jackson. Not only do Tepper Jackson Bathrobes look amazing and have some of the most fun and colorful bathrobe designs that I have seen. Tepper Jackson Bathrobes take some vintage styles from the 60’s the 70’s and the 80’s and make them modern with designer cuts and by modifying the vintage prints. Although the Tepper Jackson bathrobes are terry cloth, there are a million ways you can use and make a terry cloth and personally, I prefer terry cloth bathrobes to cotton and egyptian cotton bathrobes, especially when it comes to showering and swimming.

Cotton bathrobes are great for cuddling on the couch or when you are in a chilly room at a spa, but terry cloth is versatile enough to be worn at the spa, running around outside, getting out of the shower to soak up water and pretty much everything else. If you know me then you know I absolutely love Betty Boop and just about anything with Betty Boop on it. Not only is she a sign of femininity and a flapper girl fashionista, but she is one of the most recognizable cartoon characters in American Culture. Ok, the first pair of pajamas I saw when looking through one of my favorite pajama shops online was the Blue Elvis Bathrobe or the Blue Love Me Tender Bathrobe and I could not pass it up. Not only is it completely Tennessee Chique, but perfect for any and every Elvis fan out there. Ok,I love bathrobes and anyone who has ever had a really good or really nice bathrobe knows that you will never give up a good bathrobe and never be able to live without one again if you have ever had a good one. When I don’t feel like wearing a seriously thick spa styled bathrobe, the only other kind of robe that I would ever recommend for everyday wear, besides silk for a nightgown and walking around at night, is terry cloth or cotton. Terry cloth in particular is an amazing all season bathrobe material and it isn’t only absorbant, but it is also extremely comfortable so you not only look and feel great, but you can use it to try off after the shower and wash it easily in your washer and dryer.

Terry cloth bathrobes are amazing for birthday and holiday gifts and everyone will thank you for their bathrobes, kids don’t really appreciate any bathrobes when they are younger, unless it is a girl and you tell her it is a princess coat or if you can pull off the super hero thing for a boy, but when they get older and you buy them their first bathrobe as an adult they will not only love it, but they will thank you for it forever when they are nice and warm in their dorm rooms or coming out of the shower.

Christmas Pajamas - Candy Cane, Peppermint, Christmas Sale!

Something I remember growing up as a kid in the winter time that always made me think of christmas was the taste and the smell of peppermint and wondering why anyone on earth would think that the taste of peppermint was actually candy or even decent tasting or good or fun to eat. I remember my friends going crazy when they would get peppermint candy and especially peppermint candy canes and I would always pass them up. To me, peppermints always tasted like toothpaste and for the most part I still think that is true today and only eat peppermints when I need to freshen my breath.

Anyways, it wasn’t a completely bad thought or memory because peppermint also meant that it was winter time and with winter came christmas, hanukah and other fabulous holidays where we wouldn’t only get peppermint candy, but we would also get other candy to decorate gingerbread houses with, to decorate gingerbread men and to get to eat all the candy we could want….except chocolate was never huge around the holidays….ohh I do remember having to eat ribbon candy one year and I thought it would be fabulous, until I took a bite and the whole box was peppermint flavored candy and I never wanted to eat that stuff again until I was a bit older. Ok I’ll admit it, I hated peppermint more than life itself when I was a kid. Until I had one of my first jobs where my boss was in love with peppermint bark and peppermint chocolate toffee I really hated the stuff,,,now I can deal with it but it isn’t my first choice when I want candy….I’m completely a chocolate person and always will be. Anyways, back to the point of this whole rampage about peppermint.

Peppermint makes me think of winter and the holidays and being with my family and it brings back a million good memories for me and one thing I always love about the smell of peppermint is that it reminds me that the holidays are here and I have my family and my friends and all of the people I love and even though I don’t really like to eat peppermint because it really is basically toothpaste in candy form or at least tastes like it, I do love it on holiday clothing, especially pajamas and boxer shorts and tshirts and nightgowns.
