Cuponk As Seen On TV

I know this is a pajamas blog but when I saw a new infomercial for a product called Cuponk this morning I thought it was perfect for the Pajama Party section as a great pajama party game.  Cuponk is a game that should only be played under close adult supervision.  What you do is you take the cuponk cup and place it somewhere in the room.  Then you take the cuponk ping pong balls and you set up a goal for the kids to throw it in so that the end result is that the cuponk ball lands in the cuponk cup.  It sounds kind of boring or easy but when you play cuponk as seen on tv, you’ll see how addictive and fun cuponk as seen on tv really is.

The most basic way to play cuponk is to set up a line in the room and make the kids stand behind the line and then one at a time they have to toss their ball and the first one to get theirs in wins.  You could also play it in reverse by the last person to get their ball in with this basic head on shot looses and doesn’t get to go onto the next round. If you chose this game where it progressively gets harder and someone is eliminated after each game, then you have a seriously fun game of cuponk ahead of you.

After the first person is eliminated, you can now make the game more tricky.  Instead of just getting the cuponk ping pong ball in the cup, you can say the ball has to bounce twice before it lands in.  It can bounce on the floor, off the wall or off anything but it has to bounce twice.  This now makes the game more challenging.   (If you don’t want anyone excluded you could always play by assigning cuponk points to the kids as they win they get more points so the first one in gets 5, the second one in gets 4, the third 3, etc… and make the total points for the first one be based on how many people are playing).

After that round you can now make it even more difficult by making them have to have 3 bounces with one of them being off the wall or they have to hit the ceiling and then get it in the cuponk cup.

This week was kind of rough for me and all I could think about was going home and laying in my bed or on the couch with a glass of wine, a book and my favorite robe. I really don’t feel like writing to much right now but I think you all know what it is like to have a bad day or week at work and want nothing but quiet and to relax and all I could think about is laying around in my robe with my favorite wine and a book and then to go into work the next day completely refreshed and ready to work though all of the issues.

So there is a brand new trendy fashion craze called Silly Bandz.  Not only have silly bandz taken over the lives of kids this summer but silly bandz have also taken over adults, club goers, college students, high school students and everyone else in between.  It is always funny how something so simple can become something so trendy like Poggs or Beany Babies or Jelly bracelets.  So what are Silly Bandz and who are Silly Bandz good for or fun for?

What are Silly Bandz?

Silly Bandz are rubber bands that are shaped in fun shapes.  They come in packs of 24 or if you go to a store that sells silly bandz you can sometimes buy them individually.  Silly bandz can be used for normal things that regular rubber bands are used for like holding rolled paper together and for closing and holding bags closed like when you need to close or keep closed a bag of chips or snack foods.  Silly Bandz come in a ton of colors and shapes including blue, green, red, yellow and everything from mermaids, to baseball shapes to US patriotic shapes that also come in red white and blue and pretty much everything in between.  The funny thing is though that instead of using silly bandz to be practical, people are using them as a fashion accessory.

Over the fourth of july weekend I went to the beach with my friends.  Not only did we go shopping but when we would pass by stores we would see signs for silly bandz everywhere.  I was wondering what everyone at the beach was wearing on their wrists and finally the store clerk took one off and it popped back into its original shape instead of a regular rubber band.   After she showed us that I noticed that everyone at the beach was wearing these things.

Who uses silly bandz?

Silly bandz can be used by just about everyone (as long as they are old enough if kids and they have parental supervision).  I saw kids going crazy over them in the stores and shops and I saw our servers and bartenders (both male and female) wearing them at the restaurants and bars.  People in the clubs were giving them out to people they thought were cute and they sort of became their own form of currency.  Kids were trading them like they were baseball cards and parents were getting stuck wearing them when their kids gave them a couple (however they also seemed like they thought they were cool to).   At the beach house we rented, before I found out what they were, I just thought that they were cool looking rubber bands, unfortunately my friends didn’t think it was that cool when I used the ones laying out on the counter to close a bag of chips.  Although they were probably intended for practical purposes and for age appropriate kids (whatever the minimum age is on the silly bandz package) it turns out that just about everyone loved silly bandz.  I even ended up wearing a couple of them on my wrists as well.

Silly Bandz for Boys:
